With fantastic shopping, dining, and plenty to do and see, Kittery has everything you love about Portsmouth – and it’s only minutes away! Check out some of our favorite spots:
Bob’s Clam Hut: You can’t take a trip to Maine without stopping for seafood! Established in 1956, Bob’s is loved by both locals and travelers (customer favorite meals include clam chowder, lobster stew, and fried clams), and celebrates its 60th anniversary this year! You place your order at the counter which gives it that traditional beachy, New England vibe, and the seafood is served fresh daily – Bob’s was even featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives! http://bit.ly/2aUralP
Take Flight: The largest aerial adventure course, as well as the first seacoast adventure zip line tour in Maine, Adventure Park is the ideal place for thrill seekers. The course has over 65 activities and 2 adventure zip tours, each with 6 different zip lines that take visitors soaring through the trees. Perfect for families, friends, bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthday parties, and anyone else looking for an exhilarating experience close by, Take Flight is the ultimate summer adventure – for those who would rather stay grounded, there are also beautiful flower gardens as well as an indoor lounge: http://bit.ly/2buwLn4
Tributary Brewing Company: Tod Mott is known as New England’s brewing legend – he created the original recipe of Harpoon IPA! – and he has worked with some of the region’s most renowned breweries. Tributary Brewing Company’s beers are all hand crafted in Kittery, using ingredients sourced both locally and from around the world, which you can try in the Tasting Room, and they offer a wide selection of brewskis: http://bit.ly/2beOJXb
When Pigs Fly Pizzeria: This 160-seat pizza restaurant has a large selection of wood-fired pizzas, appetizers, and craft beers, and is a New England favorite. Ron Siegel started When Pigs Fly Bakery in 1993, and on his first day of business, baked 80 loaves of bread – now, it produces over 12,000 fresh loaves on a busy day! The Company Store is also located there, where you can buy artisan breads and other delicious products: http://bit.ly/2b19jeD
Kittery Trading Post: One of the most notorious shopping destinations on the seacoast, Kittery Trading Post is filled with recreational gear, clothing, footwear, and outdoor and sports specific apparel and products. What started as a one-room trading post and gas station, has now turned into a 90,000 square feet store. Whether you’re looking to camp, ski, snowboard, surf, hike, and essentially anything else you can think of, KTP has got it all: http://bit.ly/2bfmwPW
The Black Birch: This cozy restaurant opened in 2011 and has been a favorite spot to us on the seacoast. They’re known for their deliciously creative and unique dishes – make sure to try the deviled eggs three ways as one of your ‘First Bites,’ and the Lobster Mac and Cheese for your main meal! http://bit.ly/2bvA37L
